DEP inspected the well on July 24, 2026 in response to a complaint by the Penn Hills Fire Marshal of leaking gas and issued multiple violations.
The well owner failed to submit annual production and waste generation reports since 2004 and well integrity reports since 2013.
In the October 14 inspection report, DEP said the “well remains in the same condition/configuration as the initial inspection” on July 24.
There is no response from the well owner to the July 24 violations posted online.
DEP continued the previous violations and added violations for abandoning and not plugging the well and failure to stop gas venting from the well.
DEP requested a written response by October 30.
